Worldbuilding
After drawing a single scene of an entire world, I wanted to explore it at large – to see the bigger picture. However, I couldn’t figure out how to approach it. So, I did what normal people would do: I printed out worldbuilding worksheets and questionnaires from Google. They asked things like, ‚What is the political structure?‘ ‚What are the economics?‘ or ‚What types of plants grow there?‘ – mundane questions that seemed to get me nowhere. Yet, time and again, I found myself pulled back to emotions, mood, story, and the overall feel and vibe. It took some time after trying to force my way into all of that, but I finally realized I don’t have to pre-engineer everything. Details can be discovered along the way; they don’t have to be figured out from the start. I will focus on the mood, the feeling, and the stories. And if you wish, you can come along with me.
